The 'boot-bag' - BMW Z4 boot rack
We make a unique BMW Z4 boot rack alternative the boot-bag. Boot-bag is a waterproof luggage bag that straps to the boot lid of your Z4 without a rack. Cars have evolved in many ways over the past 50 years yet, the boot rack has remained unchanged. All it allows you to do is fix a bag to the your car by first fixing the rack to the car, in 2008 we thought 'why not just fix the bag to the boot ?' and boot-bag was born. We have sold over 25,000 since then.
There are two sizes in the boot-bag range :
Original - £124.95 / 144.95€ / $161.95 - 50 Litres of additional luggage capacity measures 70x36x20cm ( 28"x15"x8") giving 50 litres (1.75 cubic feet) of additional storage. The soft non slip mat the bag sits on is slightly bigger measuring 80x40cm.
Vacation - £154.95 / 174.95€ / $194.95 - 75 Litres of additional luggage capacity,50% larger than the boot-bag original measuring 90x40x20cm.(36"x16"x8") The soft mat measures 90x45cm.

We manufacture an innovative luggage rack for the Z4. Revo-Rack is made from 25mm Magnesium & Aluminium tube so is very light (1.7kg) and will never rust. The rack attaches to your Z4 using Vacuum pad technology this was developed in the 1960's to hold film camera's to cars ( they were heavy in those days ). We manufacture the rack in either a black finish thats powder coated or a model thats hand polished and then anodised for a deep shine.
Revo-Rack has been independently safety tested by TUV Italy. Along with braking and speed tests to a loaded rack they applied a 645N force. A lifting force of around 65kg/145lbs for 10 minutes to a Revo-Rack with a 25kg load on it the rack stayed secure and did not bend or deform. Its been certified to ISO 11154 PAS 2006 the international standard for roof bars !
The rack uses three 120mm vacuum cups/pads each rated as being bale to carry an 18kg load. The Z4 E89 ( 2009-16 ) requires the standard Revo Rack (£249.95/£279.95), the E85 model (2003-09) needs two multi directional fittings (£259.95/£299.95) due to the curve of the boot. The current G29 model needs one of the vacuum cups moved to the central cross rail as the boot is shallow ( All detailed in the store )
Vacuum cups employ the force of atmospheric pressure to grip a surface: When a vacuum exists between the cup and the surface on which it is attached, the weight of Earth's atmosphere holds the cup in place with incredible force these are very different to suction cups.
Revo-Racks vacuum cups use a hand-actuated pump to efficiently remove air from between the rubber pad and the attaching boot/trunk lid thus creating a much more reliable hold. Because the full face of the pad is brought into contact with the boot/trunk lid, distortion is reduced, allowing the cup to be used with very little risk of damage.

The boot-bag sits on soft non slip matting to protect paintwork its 4mm thick and slightly bigger than the bag no metal hooks or clips to damage paint with this BMW Z4 boot rack system.
The soft fabric base of a boot-bag has no studs, to cause damage to paintwork. With the addition of the anti slip mat their is zero risk of paint damage, 8 years of sales demonstrate this.
boot-bag is supplied with 3 straps lay these out across your open boot.
Then place the boot-bag and matting onto the boot lid, the matting is slightly bigger than the bag. The bag has a zip on 3 sides thats covered by a flap held in place by velco make sure the logo is showing on the right. The side of the bag without the zip faces into the wind.
Then take the ends of the webbing and attach to the 6 ladder lock buckles on top of the bag. These are the same as you would find on a quality rucksack and once the webbing is tight it won't come loose. Detach the shoulder strap.
boot-bag is fully waterproof the two patches on top of the bag are sown then welded so no water can leak through the stitching.
Its even possible to open the boot with the bag attached. Boot-bag is fine on cars with a L shaped boot like this Honda just fill the boot before you lay the straps out.
