We make a unique Mazda MX5 boot rack alternative the boot-bag. Boot-bag is a waterproof luggage bag that straps to the boot lid of your MX5 without a rack. Cars have evolved in many ways over the past 50 years yet, the boot rack has remained unchanged. All it allows you to do is fix a bag to the your car by first fixing the rack to the car, in 2008 we thought 'why not just fix the bag to the boot ?' and boot-bag was born. We have sold over 25,000 since then.

These racks are 108x42cm in size. What we really like about this rack is the quality of the finish and the simple but very effective design it uses to attach to the boot lid. The modern rack has four clamps that can swivel and simply clamp onto the edge of your 5's boot-lid. The fixing points the feet attach too simply slide along the cross rails and are held in place with a m6 bolt, these racks can hold 25kg.

Revo-Reck is a new type of boot rack developed developed by the same team that has been manufacturing the boot-bag for the last 9 years. We manufacture the rack ourselves and its available in either a black powder coated finish, or a version thats hand polished then anodised for a deep lasting shine. Revo-Rack has been tested to ISO/PAS 11154-:2006 Road vehicles -- Roof load carriers : The international standard for roof bars. There is no standard for luggage racks. The rack underwent testing designed for roof bars, speed tests, load tests, and emergency braking tests. It passed all these tests. Revo-Rack attaches to your 5 using vacuum cup technology. This was developed in the 1960’s to hold film camera’s to cars and they are not to be confused with suction cups. Each vacuum cup has a hand activated plunger that enables you to physically pump the air out from between the boot lid and the cup creating an incredibly strong bond. Each cup is rated by the manufacturer as being capable of holding 18kg so with the three on the Revo-Rack, technically the rack could hold 54kg ! In reality we recommend a 20kg load. The vacuum cups are made from rubber so as a added benefit the Revo-Rack won’t ever damage paintwork.
Revo-Rack has also been developed to continue the ethos of ‘adding lightness' that Mazda followed when developing the ND. The frame of the Revo-Rack is made from 25mm T5 tubing an aluminium and magnesium alloy typically used in aerospace. This means the rack is incredibly light weighing just 1.7kg and will never rust. The rack was developed principally for the MK4 but will fit all MX5 models. Revo Rack can be fitted in under 30 seconds without tools with the hoop at the rear or front of the bot lid.

The boot-bag sits on soft non slip matting to protect paintwork its 4mm thick and slightly bigger than the bag no metal hooks or clips to damage paint with this Mazda MX5 boot rack system.
The soft fabric base of a boot-bag has no studs, to cause damage to paintwork. With the addition of the soft mat their is zero risk of paint damage : Over 8 years of sales have demonstrated this.
boot-bag is supplied with 3 straps lay these out across your open boot.
Then place the boot-bag and matting onto the boot lid, the matting is slightly bigger than the bag. The bag has a zip on 3 sides thats covered by a flap held in place by velco make sure the logo is showing on the right. The side of the bag without the zip faces into the wind.
Then take the ends of the webbing and attach to the 6 ladder lock buckles on top of the bag. These are the same as you would find on a quality rucksack and once the webbing is tight it won't come loose. Detach the shoulder strap.
boot-bag is fully waterproof the two patches on top of the bag are sown then welded so no water can leak through the stitching.
Its even possible to open the boot with the bag attached. Boot-bag is fine on cars with a L shaped boot like this Honda just fill the boot before you lay the straps out.
If you have a MK3 MX5 and the boot-bag will obscure the third brake light we have an accessory where you can attach an additional light to the top of the bag for £9.95.
