The 'boot-bag'
We make a unique boot rack alternative the boot-bag. Boot-bag is a waterproof luggage bag that straps to the boot lid of your XK without a rack. Cars have evolved in many ways over the past 50 years yet, the boot rack has remained unchanged. All it allows you to do is fix a bag to the your car by first fixing the rack to the car, in 2008 we thought 'why not just fix the bag to the boot ?' and boot-bag was born. We have sold over 25,000 since then.
There are two sizes in the boot-bag range :
Original- £124.95 / 144.95€ / $161.95 - 50 Litres of additional luggage capacity measures 70x36x20cm ( 28"x15"x8") giving 50 litres (1.75 cubic feet) of additional storage. The soft non slip fabric mat the bag sits on is slightly bigger measuring 80x40cm.
Vacation - £154.95 / 174.95€ / $194.95 - 75 Litres of additional luggage capacity, 50% larger than the boot-bag original measuring 90x40x20cm.(36"x16"x8") The soft fabric mat measures 90x45cm.
Modern MX5 MK2 Boot Racks
We are the only UK sellers of these boot racks and import them from Italy. They are made by a company who have been manufacturing car boot and roof racks since 1969. We love the attention to detail, the fact that the Italians have invested significantly in tooling to make these racks perfect ; and the simple but effective feet that clamp to the edge of your boot lid.
This boot rack is 108x42cm in size and can fit any boot-lid between 100cm/39" & 135cm/53" in width. What's most impressive about this MX5 MK2 boot rack is the quality of the finish and the simple but very effective design the rack uses to attach to the boot lid. The rack has four feet that can swivel and simply clamp onto the edge of your MX5's boot-lid. The fixing points the feet are attached too simply slide along the rails and are held in place with a bolt. The legs are powder coated to reduce the risk of any damage to your MX5's boot lid and sit on thick rubber feet.

Both racks measure 89cm x 46cm x 11cm, and can be fitted temporarily using the fitting kit supplied alternatively they can be permanently attached as all four legs and threads within.

Shelf bag for MK2
The boot-bag sits on soft non slip matting to protect paintwork its 4mm thick and slightly bigger than the bag no metal hooks or clips to damage paint with this MX5 MK2 boot rack system.
The soft base of the boot-bag has no clips or studs to damage paintwork, with the addition of the anti slip mat there is zero risk of damage, over 8 years of sales prove this.
boot-bag is supplied with 3 straps lay these out across your open boot.
Then place the boot-bag and matting onto the boot lid, the matting is slightly bigger than the bag. The bag has a zip on 3 sides thats covered by a flap held in place by velco make sure the logo is showing on the right. The side of the bag without the zip faces into the wind.
Then take the ends of the webbing and attach to the 6 ladder lock buckles on top of the bag. These are the same as you would find on a quality rucksack and once the webbing is tight it won't come loose. Detach the shoulder strap.
boot-bag is fully waterproof the two patches on top of the bag are sown then welded so no water can leak through the stitching.
Its even possible to open the boot with the bag attached. Boot-bag is fine on cars with a L shaped boot like this Honda just fill the boot before you lay the straps out.
