All it allows you to do is fix a bag to the your car by first fixing the rack to the car, in 2008 we thought 'why not just fix the bag to the boot ?' and boot-bag was born. We love the attention to detail, the fact that the Italians have invested significantly in tooling to make these racks perfect ; and the simple but effective feet that clamp to the edge of your MX5's boot lid.
This boot rack is 108x42cm in size and can fit any boot-lid between 100cm/39" & 135cm/53" in width. What's most impressive about this Mazda MX5 boot luggage rack is the quality of the finish and the simple but very effective design the rack uses to attach to the boot lid. The rack has four feet that can swivel and simply clamp onto the edge of your MX5's boot-lid. The fixing points the feet are attached to simply slide along the rails and are held in place with a bolt. The legs are powder coated to reduce the risk of any damage to your MX5's boot lid and sit on thick rubber feet. These racks are suitable for the MK1, MK2 and soft top MK3.

The boot-bag sits on soft non slip matting to protect paintwork its 4mm thick and slightly bigger than the bag no metal hooks or clips to damage paint with this boot rack for Mazda MX5
boot-bag is supplied with 3 straps lay these out across your open boot.
Then place the boot-bag and matting onto the boot lid, the matting is slightly bigger than the bag. The bag has a zip on 3 sides thats covered by a flap held in place by velco make sure the logo is showing on the right. The side of the bag without the zip faces into the wind.
Then take the ends of the webbing and attach to the 6 ladder lock buckles on top of the bag. These are the same as you would find on a quality rucksack and once the webbing is tight it won't come loose. Detach the shoulder strap.
boot-bag is fully waterproof the two patches on top of the bag are sown then welded so no water can leak through the stitching.
Its even possible to open the boot with the bag attached. Boot-bag is fine on cars with a L shaped boot like this Honda just fill the boot before you lay the straps out.
If you have a MK3 or MK4 MX5 and the boot-bag will obscure the third brake light we have an accessory where you can attach an additional light to the top of the bag for £9.95. ( its not a UK legal requirement )
